"I have no problem at all compromising on insignificant things, like what we're going to have for dinner. But on the equal protection of innocent human life, the securing of the Blessings of Liberty to our Posterity, the protection of marriage and the family, the preservation of our right to keep and bear arms, the defense of our national sovereignty, security and borders, and adherence to our constitutional form of republican, representative self-government, there can be no compromise."
-- Tom Hoefling
"And this is the tendency of all human governments. A departure from principle in one instance becomes a precedent for the second; that second for a third; and so on, till the bulk of society is reduced to be mere automatons of misery, to have no sensibilities left but for sinning and suffering."
-- Thomas Jefferson, Letter to Samuel Kercheval, Monticello, July 12, 1816
"We have a political class that has become unprincipled, and they have created a political process that is not of the people, by the people, or for the people. Now, you can try and fix the process without addressing the lack of principle, but, at best, all you're likely to accomplish is to create a more efficient means of tyranny. No, get the principles right, quit compromising them, and then fixing the process will be easy."

"In politics the middle way is none at all. "
-- John Adams
Vice Presidential Nominee,
"By perseverance and fortitude we have the prospect of a glorious issue; by cowardice and submission, the sad choice of a variety of evils...."
--Thomas Paine, The Crisis, December 23, 1776
The impending Republican nomination of the most successfully liberal governor in American history provides true moral, Constitutional conservatives the best chance we are likely to have to wrestle from off our necks the boot of a tyrannical two-party system. If the nomination of Romney will not convince us of the complete moral and Constitutional compromise of the Republican Party, then we must either be the sheep that the GOP takes us for, or else we are in league with the wolf. Now is the time to help the Republican Party to their rightful place in the graveyard of history, to lay forgotten alongside their compromised predecessors, the Whigs, as we work together to raise up new vehicles of principled statesmanship. "By perseverance and fortitude we have the prospect of a glorious issue; by cowardice and submission, the sad choice of a variety of evils...."
