My opponent in the June 3rd GOP gubernatorial primary, Terry Branstad, prefers that the electorate remain ignorant of their choices in this election.
He admitted as much last night in a speech to Republicans in Des Moines:
“I’m not going to tell you who my opponent is because a lot of you don’t know and I don’t want you to know,” Branstad said. (source: Radio Iowa http://www.radioiowa.com/2014/05/21/branstad-compares-likely-2014-foe-to-his-1982-opponent/)
Now, this is not a surprise for anyone who has been paying attention. When I made the ballot and challenged him to five debates, he refused to participate in even one, saying, basically, that he was too busy being governor. He’s too busy to defend his support for the Common Core/Iowa Core final takeover of our local schools.
He’s too busy to defend his strong public advocacy of a ‘bullying bill” which is a centerpiece of the homosexual agenda, and nanny statism carried to the extreme.
He’s too busy to defend his budget that is a billion dollars bigger than his liberal Democrat predecessor’s.
He’s too busy to defend Iowa’s corporate income tax rate, which is the highest in America, and a personal income tax rate that is higher than New York’s.
He’s too busy to defend his crony capitalist public policies that masquerade as “economic development.”
He’s too busy to defend his inaction on providing equal protection for the innocent unborn; protection that our national and state constitutions explicitly and imperatively require.
He’s too busy to defend his inaction on restoring one man-one woman marriage, which our state law, to this day, mandates.
He’s too busy to defend his inaction on reining in lawless, out-of-control judges.
He’s too busy to defend his inaction on Constitutional Carry legislation which will restore law-abiding citizens' full Second Amendment rights.
Well, We the People of Iowa now have the opportunity to make sure that after June 3rd, Mr. Branstad will not be so busy any more.
Help spread the word. There is still time. Let others know that they do have a choice. Let’s get the conservatives out to vote on Tuesday, June 3rd, and together, let’s chart a new principled course in the First-In-The-Nation-Caucus State of Iowa.
And please, help us spread the word in these closing days by donating as generously as you can HERE!
Thank you.
For Iowa, for America, for our Posterity,
