"And this is the tendency of all human governments. A departure from principle in one instance becomes a precedent for the second; that second for a third; and so on, till the bulk of society is reduced to be mere automatons of misery, to have no sensibilities left but for sinning and suffering."
-- Thomas Jefferson
“The true danger is when liberty is nibbled away, for expedience, and by parts.”
– Edmund Burke
Most Americans these days are, politically, like the proverbial frog that is being boiled slowly, so that they won't jump out of the pot.
Everyone knows that evil can destroy you incrementally. A man can be poisoned slowly over time, until the accumulated toxins finally do him in. The foundation of a building can be sapped and undermined, eroded away over time, in preparation for its collapse. Congress, the President, and the Courts, can, over time, lay illegitimate claim to unlimited powers and lay waste to all of your liberties.
But in matters of life and death, you can't DO GOOD incrementally. You either obey God's explicit, imperative command, “you shall not murder,” or you do not.
There is no middle ground.
There is no shade of gray.
You can't fulfill justice incrementally. You either provide justice in government, or you do not.
You can't fulfill equal protection under the law incrementally. Either the God-given, unalienable rights of all are protected equally, or they are not.
The innocent individual little boy or girl in the womb cannot be protected incrementally. They are either alive, or they are dead. They are either protected against being murdered under the color of our laws, or they are not.
For the last 43 years, the bloody historic error of the leaders of the so-called “pro-life movement” has been to think that they can do good while compromising with evil. Adopting a Utilitarian “incrementalist” “strategy” – a strategy that is contrary to the absolute requirements of God's Word, contrary to the laws of nature and nature's God, contrary to the natural law principles of our national charter, the Declaration of Independence, contrary to every clause of the stated purposes of the supreme law of our land, the Constitution, and contrary to the explicit, imperative equal protection and due process requirements of that supreme law – they have vainly sought to “save some,” while in fact, by their own compromise of principle, absolutely assured the continuation of the horrors of abortion on demand.
By passing lawless “laws” that grant permission to kill babies, all of the babies, as long as some arbitrary man-made schedule or requirement is met, the incrementalists have consistently surrendered the only real moral, constitutional, and legal arguments against abortion on demand, which are:
- The intrinsic nature and worth of the individual person; and
- The requirements of God and our Constitution that the lives of all innocent persons be equally protected.
Our liberties and our republic are almost gone.
The erosion of our foundations is now too far advanced.
The poisoning victim is close to expiring.
The frog is nearly boiled.
We must stop the incrementalism of evil now, if we are to have any hope of ever delivering a free country into the hands of our children and grandchildren.
