One of the things I like the most about the most commonly-sung verse of our national anthem, the first verse, is that it ends with a very important question, one that should perpetually provoke us to thought, prayer, and decisive action.
"Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?"
The fact remains that it can continue to fly over a people that are no longer free, because they have become cowards.
