Our country desperately needs new leaders.
When I'm looking for new leaders, practical ability is the last thing I look for, not the first. The first thing I look for is those who can demonstrate that they are consistently principled.
Because, if they are unprincipled, all of their practical ability will serve nothing but to destroy the republic even faster.
This is not to totally discount practical ability, of course. The practical fact is that in the practical world we desperately need principled leaders with practical abilities and gifts.
It's a question of priorities.
