There were certainly some highly questionable things about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
However, he appropriated and employed certain timeless truths and natural moral law principles in his good work of trying to bring about equal treatment for blacks in this country. And no matter the flaws of the man, the truth carries with it its own intrinsic power.
And so, while acknowledging the man and his work today, my focus remains on the principles and the truth that are the necessary predicates for true justice to exist on this earthly plane.
“If any earthly institution or custom conflicts with God’s will, it is your Christian duty to oppose it. You must never allow the transitory, evanescent demands of man-made institutions to take precedence over the eternal demands of the Almighty God.”
– Martin Luther King, Jr.
